Coronation Street's Todd Grimshaw has faced another backlash over his antics, as his behaviour following his horrific ordeal with Theo Silverton continues to escalate. Viewers know that Theo subjected Todd to months of abuse, with the nightmare finally coming to an end when Theo died after Sarah Platt hit him over the head with a scaffolding pipe.

Since then, Todd's behaviour has spiralled out of control, and in last week's scenes, he hooked up with Fraser to spite Glenda, who believed she was going on a date with him.

Summer, Christina and Mary all criticised Todd, who remained unrepentant. At the end of the episode, Todd told Summer he was through with being nice, saying: "I am going to take whatever I want, to hell with everyone else."

In tonight's (24 August) episode, Todd continued to show no remorse, telling Glenda that Fraser is gay and he did her a favour.

"The guy's gay, all right," he said. "The best you could have hoped for was to be mates without benefits."

At the undertakers, Christina tore a strip off Todd over his attitude towards his friends, saying: "Do you know what, Todd? This smart mouth of yours is not very helpful. And it's certainly not funny."

She continued: "It's just cruel. And you're very good at keeping people at arm's length. But you pointing out every single thing I've done wrong does not make your actions any more acceptable."

When Celeste called in at the undertakers, Todd was surprised to see her. As Todd saw Celeste out, she spotted Bernie across the street and hurried over, calling out her name, but Bernie gave her the short shrift.

When Celeste revealed that she’s Bernie’s mum’s twin sister, Todd was gobsmacked, saying: "I thought my family was dysfunctional."

Todd called at the café and broke the news to Bernie, telling her that her Aunty Celeste is dying and suggesting that now would be a good time to reconnect.

Bernie snapped at Todd, saying: "Having spoken to Christina, I'd sort your own life out before you interfered in mine."
