Home-and-life safety education series Home for Good has been renewed for a second season, which will begin airing on ABC stations on January 9.

The series is produced by Hearst Media Production Group via a partnership with Epic Entertainment and Media Group and safety equipment maker Kidde. It airs as part of ABC stations’ “Weekend Adventure” educational/informational programming block.

Hosted by Art Edmonds, Home for Good is a home renovation series honoring people who make a difference in their communities. Each half-hour episode transforms a room or personal space to better serve people who dedicate their lives to helping others. Season 2 will continue to feature first responders while bringing more community champions and service workers into the spotlight, including educators, mentors and volunteers who serve families in need.

The new season will feature people whose work takes many forms, including a firefighter supporting families of children with autism, a teacher whose students bring comfort to young cancer patients, a volunteer who provides food and supplies to people experiencing homelessness, and a mentor who created a free life-skills program for local youth.

“We’re excited to bring Home for Good back for a second season,” said Bryan Curb, president of HMPG. “The series shows what giving back looks like through the people who serve their communities, while giving viewers practical fire and CO safety information they can use at home. That combination reflects the value of E/I programming: stories that educate, inform and offer a meaningful benefit to audiences.”

HMPG’s current program portfolio comprises more than 30 original series and hundreds of hours of content annually on leading broadcast networks and station groups and on connected TV and streaming platforms.
