Aamir and wife Gauri visit Rani Mukerji to offer condolences

Aamir Khan and his wife Gauri visited actress Rani Mukerji to offer their condolences following the demise of her mother, Krishna Mukerji.The couple was seen arriving together to pay their respects to the grieving family.

Aamir joined a long list of Bollywood stars who were seen arriving at Rani's house to offer the actress their support during the difficult time.

News about Krishna's passing came on Tuesday afternoon. A statement shared by the family read, "With heavy hearts, we share that Rani Mukerji's mother, Mrs Krishna Mukerji, 75, passed away this afternoon. The family is deeply grateful for your love, prayers, and support, and respectfully requests privacy during this time of immense grief."The family did not disclose the cause of her death.Many of Rani's close friends from the industry attended her mother's last rites, which took place at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu. Shah Rukh Khan arrived with wife Gauri Khan to pay his last respects amid heavy security. Actress Alia Bhatt was also spotted by the shutterbugs as she arrived to offer her condolences.Filmmaker Karan Johar also attended Krishna Mukerji's last rites.

Krishna Mukerji was married to filmmaker Ram Mukerji, one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios in Mumbai. Ram Mukerji was known for films including 'Hum Hindustani' (1960) and 'Leader' (1964), among others.Krishna and Ram Mukerji had two children - Rani Mukerji and filmmaker-producer Raja Mukherjee.Rani has largely maintained a private life away from the spotlight, but has often spoken about the influence of her parents on her personal and professional journey.Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji have worked together on several films, including 'Ghulam' (1998), 'Mann' (1999) and 'Talaash' (2012), and have shared a long-standing professional association.
