Ministry champions synergy to build village flagship product ecosystem

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions is championing cross-stakeholder synergy essential for building an ecosystem for flagship village products.

The collaboration encompasses central and regional governments, village authorities, village economic institutions, practitioners, and other key players.

Head of Center for Training Disadvantaged Region and Village Human Resources at the ministry, Dicky Yosepial, underscored such synergy is needed to help village economic actors grow their businesses and expand market access.

"This synergy ensures village economic actors do not navigate business expansion challenges alone, but instead receive ongoing support in knowledge, mentoring, information access, and market development opportunities," Yosepial said at the Export Village Training, monitored from Jakarta on Monday.

He further noted villages possess diverse economic potential, including natural resources, community creativity, small businesses, village-owned enterprises, cooperatives, business groups, farmer groups, and various other economic institutions.

The potential not only offers benefits to the local communities, he added, but also can be developed to reach wider markets, including global markets.

However, he underscored that challenges remain, including limited knowledge of export procedures, production capacity, packaging, legalities, business institutionalization, market understanding, pricing, digital marketing, and logistics.

Therefore, capacity building for economic actors in villages must be conducted in a planned, gradual manner tailored to their actual needs, he said.

Dicky added the Export Village Training is part of a strategy to build the capacity of village economic actors through a phased approach, focusing on strengthening initial knowledge and readiness through lectures, case studies, self-assessments, practical exercises, and assignments.

"I hope this initiative can bolster the synergy between the central government, regional governments, village governments, village economic institutions, practitioners, and various stakeholders in building an ecosystem for village flagship product development," he remarked.
