Euromatch NPFL: Obioma, Zulkifilu, Rilwan Lead Early Golden Boot Race

Translate

Abia Warriors striker Emeka Obioma has emerged as the leading contender for the Golden Boot award in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, this season after scoring six goals in nine league appearances.

Obioma, who won the league’s top scorer award in the 2022/23 season, has continued to impress in front of goal, having previously netted 16 times to help Enyimba clinch the NPFL title that campaign.

The forward also maintained his scoring form last season, finishing among the league’s leading goalscorers with 11 goals.

Hot on Obioma’s heels are Ranchers Bees’ Mohammed Zulkifilu and Doma United’s Sadiq Rilwan, who have both scored five goals each.

Barau FC duo Joseph Atule and Sugau Aliyu, alongside Kayode Oke of Bendel Insurance, have recorded four goals apiece.

The leading scorers will be looking to add to their tallies this weekend as Matchday 10 fixtures take place at various venues across the country, with the race for the NPFL Golden Boot gathering momentum.
