Celebrity Traitors star Jerry Hall's marriage to Mick Jagger explained - and why it was annulled

Jerry Hall told a brilliant anecdote about her wedding to music royalty Mick Jagger on The Celebrity Traitors tonight - so when did the pair tie the knot, and why did they part?
During tonight's mission, contestants did - at one point - encounter a huge number of wedding dresses.
In her confessional interview, Jerry chuckled: "Before I got married to Mick, we'd already been together seven years, had two children.

"I put on a wedding dress every day until he agreed we get married. So funny!"
The pair held a wedding ceremony in Ubud, the religious capital of Bali, in November 1990, after getting together in the late 1970s. Their daughter Elizabeth Scarlett was born in 1984, and son James in 1985.
They ultimately parted in 1999, by which point they had another daughter, Georgia May (born 1992) and son Gabriel (born 1997).
When they separated, a high court judge ruled that their marriage was "null and void", and was never legally valid under either Indonesian or English law in the first place.

According to a report in The Guardian, the judge said: "In these circumstances I am satisfied this marriage ceremony did not, according to local law, bring about a legal marriage between the petitioner and respondent, and in these circumstances there is no such legal marriage between them in this jurisdiction and I shall pronounce a decree of nullity."
Hall went on to marry Rupert Murdoch in March 2016. She filed for divorce in 2022.
Now, she is seen taking part in The Celebrity Traitors in the Highlands, saying of her reasons for taking part: "Well, I love the show. I have been completely obsessed.
"I just thought it was the best show when I first saw it, and I love playing games. I felt thrilled to be asked to be involved as I just think it's wonderful."

She added: "Saying yes in life has sometimes got me in trouble, but a lot of times it's led to wonderful adventures, and I am excited to embark on this adventure."
Of her family's reaction, she said: "I did tell my four children, and I told Mick that if any of the children had a problem, they were to call him because I was busy!
"My children said, 'Mom, don't do anything dangerous. Be careful!' They worry. They’re like, 'You think you're younger than you are. You and Dad are always doing things that you did in your twenties that maybe you shouldn't be doing now!' You know, stuff like that."
The Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
