Creator Maurice Kamara Signs With UTA (Exclusive)

Translate

Maurice Kamara, the cultural tastemaker behind The People Gallery online fashion page, has signed with United Talent Agency for representation.

The People Gallery features man-on-the-street style interviews with celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Pamela Anderson and Michael B. Jordan at fashion shows and other events or just New Yorkers showing their street style when out and about.

“Let’s see your fit, describe it for us,” Kamara will often say from behind the camera as he opens the celebrity encounters. Leveraging over 3 million followers across TikTok and Instagram, The People Gallery also increasingly offers an online voice for brands Kamara partners with.

“What began as Kamara stopping stylish strangers on the streets of New York has grown into a global platform documenting the people, personalities, and perspectives shaping culture across fashion, music, sports, and beyond,” the agency said in a statement. The UTA Creators division will expand Kamara’s opportunities in digital media, brand partnerships, sports and other platforms.

The signing comes as Kamara builds on his brand partnerships and high-profile appearances, including an upcoming collaboration with UGG and a cameo in Drake’s recently released short film FOMO. Brooklyn native Kamara after over 15 years in high end retail also now attends Met Gala and fashion weeks around the world and is the subject of New York Times and GQ profiles.

UTA was early to the creators game, launching a dedicated digital talent group in 2006 to identify and represent category-leading creators across emerging and established platforms.
