The 20th edition of the Asian Games will begin on September 19 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Ten Indian athletes out of the 501 travelling to Japan will be taking part in squash events in this edition of the continental showpiece.
In the presence of Asian powerhouses such as China, Japan and South Korea, winning a gold medal in any of the seven categories will be a Herculean task for the Indian paddlers but a podium finish is not impossible.
The tricolour nation has won three bronze medals in the last two editions, including a stunning result from Hangzhou 2023 when Ayhika and Sutirtha Mukherjee upset home favourite and second-seeded pair of Chen Meng and Wang Yidi in the quarterfinals to confirm a podium finish in women’s doubles.
