Spurs will win many matches when we click: Roberto de Zerbi

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto de Zerbi has backed his side to pick up form after its poor start to the season continued with a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, September 15.

The North London side has finished 17th in consecutive seasons, and has begun the latest season in poor fashion again. It has just two points from its first four matches, and now finds itself out of one domestic competition as well.

“We are suffering because the results are ​our life. If ‌we lose, we are sorry, we are sad, we are disappointed, we are frustrated,” De Zerbi told Spurs’ ‌official website after the third-round defeat.

“It’s ​tough. But it’s the first moment, the first part of this ⁠new project.”

“I think when we make the click ... but the ‌click is not mentality, because today we showed ​the right mentality, the right behaviour and we played until ⁠the end of the game,” the manager ⁠added.

“I think we are going to win many games and score ‌many goals.”

Spurs’ next match is against Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.
