Filmmaker Subhash Ghai has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his international stature, saying that world leaders respect him. Ghai shared the message on Instagram while congratulating the Prime Minister on the occasion of BRICS 2026.Sharing photographs of PM Modi interacting with delegates at the summit, the filmmaker spoke about the importance of positivity, love and unity. He wrote, “Only he can do it Love begets love. Smiles create positive energies N our history has proved that only positivity can terminate negativity n grow humanity in this world. Why we shud not be proud of our Prime minister sh Modi where every president n premiers respect him we love him Congratulations Brics 2026.

Smiles create positive energies…"The filmmaker has previously spoken about his interaction with PM Modi, recalling how the Prime Minister, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat, supported his vision for Whistling Woods International.Last month, Ghai remembered his 2009 meeting with Modi, when he travelled to Gujarat to discuss his plans for setting up the film and media institute.

He said he had anticipated bureaucratic hurdles but was surprised by Modi’s enthusiasm and the speed with which the proposal was taken forward.The Twitter handle ‘Modi Story’ had shared a video of Ghai recounting the meeting. According to the filmmaker, Modi had invited him to his residence for breakfast during his visit to Gujarat.Ghai recalled presenting his vision to the then Chief Minister and explaining why he believed education needed an artistic dimension to achieve holistic human development.

He also emphasised the role cinema could play in that process.According to Ghai, Modi responded positively to the idea and asked him, “What do you need?"The filmmaker told him that he needed land for the proposed institute. “I asked for land to which teachers are also able to commute easily," recalled Ghai.
