Beabadoobee’s ‘Pylon’ Earns Rocker Second U.K. No. 1 Album

Beabadoobee has earned her second U.K. No. 1 album with fourth LP Pylon (Sept. 25).

The alt-rock star lands at No. 1 on the Official Albums Chart for the second release in a row following 2024’s This is How Tomorrow Moves which also achieved the feat. Her previous two releases Fake It Flowers (2020) and Beatopia (2022) reached No. 8 and No. 4, respectively. Bea’s peak on the Billboard 200 came in 2024 with This is How Tomorrow Moves landing at No. 34.

Pylon features a number of all-star guests, with Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Turnstile’s Brendan Yates and Deftones‘ Chino Moreno all making appearances as vocalists. Beabadoobee will embark on an arena tour in the U.K. and Europe this coming autumn.

Michael Jackson’s The Essential greatest hits collection holds at 2, followed by Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love at No. 3. Sienna Spiro’s The Visitor retains its position at No. 4, with Olivia Dean’s The Art of Loving up two places to No. 5; the latter will celebrate its first anniversary (Sept. 26) with an array of newly released limited-edition vinyl variants.

Miley Cyrus’ Bass Persuades finishes at No. 13. She’s previously had two U.K. No. 1s first with 2013’s Bangerz and 2023’s Endless Summer Vacation. Queen’s Roger Taylor secures a second solo top 10 with Violence Insane In A Beautiful World (No. 6) and Beck’s Ride Lonesome (No. 15) is the U.S. rocker’s eighth top 20 album.

A new David Bowie compilation, The Shel Talmy Recordings, finishes the week at No. 17; the collection is composed of some of the icon’s earliest studio recordings from 1965 with producer Shel Talmy. Echo & The Bunnymen’s first studio album in 12 years Apple For Isaac ends at No. 19.
