Fukushima University is set to embark on its first sweeping reorganization in 23 years, restructuring its five undergraduate schools into four faculties in April 2027 with a greater focus on science programs.

Under the plan, the schools of Human Development and Culture, Administration and Social Sciences, Economics and Business Administration, Symbiotic Systems Science, and Food and Agricultural Sciences will be reorganized into four faculties: Education, Politics and Economics, Science and Engineering, and Food and Agricultural Sciences.

The overhaul is intended to meet the demands of a rapidly changing society by strengthening the university’s science and engineering programs, reinforcing its long-standing role in teacher training and expanding efforts to share its expertise with the wider community.
