Coronation Street favourite Chris Gascoyne announces "magical" new role
Coronation Street icon Chris Gascoyne has been confirmed for a "magical" new role this Christmas. The star, who played Peter Barlow on the ITV soap, will appear in panto this festive season as part of Northwich Memorial Court's production of Snow White.
Chris will take on the role of the royal Henchman in the show, which runs between Sunday, 6 December to Thursday, 31 December, joining Georgie Jackson as Snow White and Ryan Greaves as Wally.
"In the Kingdom of Little Apple, Snow White awaits her Prince," the synopsis reads. "However, Queen Morgana has other ideas and plans to marry the Prince herself.
"Just how far will the evil Queen go to get her way? Is the magical Henchman really good or bad? And what mischief and mayhem will Wally and Dame Dolly be getting up to this year?"

"I’m delighted to welcome Chris Gascoyne to our panto family for 2026, I know he’s going to make a fearsomely good Henchman. And of course, it wouldn’t be panto season without the irrepressible Ryan Gleaves and the enchanting Georgie Jackson to entertain theatregoers.

Chris left Corrie back in 2023, and has since appeared in the likes of The Feud and All Creatures Great and Small, while he will also appear in the BBC's The Northumbria Mysteries alongside Robson Green, Liz White, Simon Callow, Craig Pearson, Gurjeet Singh and Alex Croft.
The latter focuses on an ex-con and gambler who tries to solve local cases using his criminal links, teaming up with an Oxford-educated detective.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
