With so much to choose from on Netflix, finding your next binge-watch can feel overwhelming. That's where the Radio Times experts come in, with recommendations to help you uncover the best shows worth your time.

Guy Ritchie's crime-comedy drama The Gentlemen follows aristocrat Eddie Horniman (Theo James) as he discovers his inherited estate is home to a sprawling cannabis empire. With series two having recently arrived, there's never been a better time to dive into the witty, action-packed underworld.

A recent addition to the service is Crew Girl, a fresh teen drama that follows talented young rower Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau) as she starts over at a prestigious prep school and joins its all-boys rowing team. The series blends sport, romance and high-school rivalries into an engaging coming-of-age story.

Red Rose is a chilling thriller that explores the dangers of modern technology as a group of friends find themselves targeted by a mysterious app with deadly consequences. Tense, addictive and packed with twists, it's an unsettling watch that taps into real-world fears about life online.

In Hostage, Suranne Jones and Julie Delpy go full throttle in a pacy political thriller that’s low on plausibility but high on action. The new-ish British Prime Minister (Jones) hasn’t been in office long when she’s faced with a crisis very close to home. She calls on the French President (Delpy) for help, but can she be trusted?

The murder of Rachel Nickell on Wimbledon Common in 1992 is sensitively handled in three-part drama The Witness that does follow the police investigation, but is more concerned with the struggle of her partner and son (the two-year-old who was the only witness) to carry on with their lives.

There's also acclaimed drama The Woman in the Wall starring Ruth Wilson, who plays a woman who was incarcerated in a convent aged just 15 and whose baby was taken from her. Years later, as she suffers from extreme bouts of sleepwalking, she wakes one day to find a corpse in her house - unsure if she is the murderer.

And there are still plenty of other options available on the platform. As well as celebrated hits such as Stranger Things, The Crown and Black Mirror, you could try fantastical horror Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, gritty Norwegian crime drama Jo Nesbo's Detective Hole or stylish thriller The Beast in Me.

• Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.

• Fact-based drama following the story of Ray, a boy on the cusp of adolescence who is arrested along with his adult brother Nathan for the murder of his mum's abusive partner. The family builds a new home on the outskirts of the developing town of Independence with their dog Jack. Harsh conditions of 1800s prairie life tests the family's faith and resolve but young Laura and her kin draw strength from each other to overcome obstacles.
