Celebrity Traitors is really beginning to 'wind me up'… it's not as good as the civilian show for this ONE infuriating reason, argues JAMIE EAST on latest Tales From The Celebrity Trenches podcast

Releasing just two Celebrity Traitors episodes a week, rather than the three fans get from the civilian series, is leaving viewers 'discombobulated' by stretching out round table reveals for far too long, podcaster Jamie East has argued.

Speaking on his Tales From The Celebrity Trenches podcast, brought to you by Sky Vegas, East warned that the show's producers risk killing the momentum of the popular BBC series by messing with the format too much, pleading: 'Don't f*** around with my Friday nights.'

In past civilian series, almost every episode settled its round table vote before the credits rolled. Now, with the celebrity version airing on Thursdays and Fridays, a Friday cliffhanger can leave fans waiting almost a week for the result.

'I don't want to be the sole detractor of Celebrity Traitors,' East said. 'But I think they are in danger of starting to f*** around with it too much.

'It used to be on three nights a week. What they've done this time is two episodes, to stretch it out over more weeks. It's become inconsistent in its format, so you never know what you're going to get.

'When it first started, you had a banishment and a murder in every single episode. The round table always resolved itself, and the murder was the cliffhanger.

East's co-host, comedian Alice Brine, said Maya Jama (pictured) was 'playing a very good game', suggesting her fellow contestants refuse to suspect her thanks to 'pretty privilege'

'Friday's episode just wound me up. I kept thinking: 'They've got to give us something.' This is how you start p***ing people off. People don't know where they are.

'If you're watching, Traitors producers, Studio Lambert: don't quit the hit. Don't f*** around with my Friday nights!'

This year's series, which sees Maya Jama, James Acaster and YouTuber King Kenny playing as Traitors, reached boiling point on Friday when Miranda Hart was murdered and the round table ended in a tie between Sharon Rooney and Joanne McNally.

Discussing the show, East's co-host, comedian Alice Brine, said Maya Jama was 'playing a very good game', suggesting her fellow contestants refuse to suspect her thanks to 'pretty privilege'.

'Pretty privilege is crazy,' she began.

'Maya has the trifecta: she has a really nice cadence to her voice. Her vocal pitch is husky. She never talks too quickly or too slowly. She's extremely beautiful. Not in an 'I get my hair dyed and eyebrows done' deceitful way. She was born beautiful.

'We're all idiots and we'll fall into that trap. It's the way the world works. She is this perfect thing and nobody will ever think she's a Traitor.

'I think Maya could take the whole thing out, a clean sweep.'
