BNXN reaffirms he's 'Still In Charge'

Translate

BNXN has released his new EP to remind us that he is Still In Charge, and it seems it's deliberately timed it to coincide with Nigeria's Independence Day. While unconfirmed publicly by BNXN himself, is hard not to read as a flex. The six-track project, distributed through EMPIRE, runs roughly 16 minutes and features two guest appearances: Asake and FOLA, pulling from very different corners of the current Afrobeats scene.

The EP opens with Eja Meja, featuring Asake, while FOLA on Shamaya brings a different kind of vibe. The second track, Online, serves as BNXN's solo statement on the project and had already been released as its final promotional single, extending themes of moving quietly and confidently locally and internationally.

The EP title continues an artistic idea BNXN established with his 2025 sophomore album CAPTAIN, built around growth through greater control over his sound and direction. Still In Charge follows that album as well as his collaborative project with Sarz, The Game Needs Us, adding another notable body of work to a busy 2026 for the artist.

Upon release, Still In Charge EP debuted on Apple Music's Nigeria albums chart in its latest snapshot. The project reinforces BNXN's standing as one of Afrobeats' more distinctive vocal talents, closing out a year that's seen him release steadily across formats.
