Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju’s 'Irandu Vaanam' locks release date

The wait for director Ramkumar’s next film is nearing its end. 'Irandu Vaanam', starring Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju, has locked its worldwide theatrical release date for October 23, 2026. The announcement comes with a new promotional video that offers a glimpse into the film’s mood and its central relationship.The film marks the third collaboration between Ramkumar and Vishnu Vishal after 'Mundasupatti' (2014) and 'Ratsasan' (2018). Their reunion, coupled with the presence of Mamitha Baiju, has made Irandu Vaanam one of the Tamil releases to watch in the upcoming festive-season calendar.

The film is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, with Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan as producers and TS Thyagarajan as presenter.

Music is by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, cinematography by Dinesh K Babu and editing by San Lokesh. The makers have confirmed that 'Irandu Vaanam' will arrive in theatres worldwide on October 23. Production house Sathya Jyothi Films made the announcement on social media alongside a new promo featuring Vishnu Vishal and Mamitha Baiju.

The makers described the film as being about “love in its most purest, intense form.”The promotional video keeps the plot largely under wraps while establishing an intense emotional tone.

It offers a glimpse into the relationship at the centre of the film and hints that the characters will face a major challenge to their love.

Ramkumar and Vishnu Vishal reunite after 'Mundasupatti' and 'Ratsasan'

'Irandu Vaanam' brings Ramkumar and Vishnu Vishal together for the third time. The duo previously collaborated on Mundasupatti and Ratsasan, with the latter becoming particularly known for its thriller narrative. Vishnu Vishal had earlier described the project as something “unique and interesting” when the shoot wrapped in June 2025.

The film was shot over 150 days and wrapped production in June last year.
