Hockey India announced cash rewards for the women’s team after its third straight Junior Asia Cup triumph in Moqi, China, on Sunday.
The side, led by Khaidem Shileima Chanu, beat host China 1-0 in the final courtesy a 17th-minute strike from Sanika Chandrakant Mane.
Each player of the title-winning squad will received INR 3 lakh while for every staff member, the amount is INR 1.5 lakh.
The team, coached by Tim White, has also qualified for the next Junior Women’s Hockey World Cup.

India remained unbeaten throughout its campaign. In the group stage, the team had defeated Korea, Malaysia and Japan apart from a goalless draw against China.
In the quarterfinals, it thrashed Pakistan 19-0 and followed it up with a 5-1 victory over Korea in the semifinals.
Mane finished the tournament as the joint-top scorer along with Bangladesh’s Sharika Rimon. Both players had seven goals.
