The stab-riddled body of a 65-year-old woman was found wrapped in a mosquito net inside a wall of her house in Iloilo City, as her younger brother denied he was responsible for her death.

In John Sala’s report for GMA Regional TV on 24 Oras on Monday, the woman’s remains were found by another family member with seven stab wounds.

Her family believes the suspect is her 45-year-old brother who attempted to hide her body,

Police investigation showed other siblings heard the two in an argument on Saturday morning for an unknown reason.

Later, they would find the victim’s body behind the wall of their house.

Police said the suspect could not hide the body since he painted the wall blue which then seeped to the living room which the other siblings used to find the remains.

The family said the suspect previously underwent rehabilitation for his addiction to alcohol, smoking and gambling.

Police added they received information that the suspect was using illegal drugs.

The suspect, who is facing a murder charge, was arrested in a hot pursuit operation and did not deny he had just finished rehabilitation.

While in custody, he denied he killed his sister and that his family wanted him gone so they could control their property and money. —RF, GMA News
