Big Brother has been hailed as the "best TV of 2026" as the 'splashgate' row sees fans claim that "old school BB is back".

During Sunday's episode, Jedward entered the Big Brother house as part of Double Trouble Week, emerging from a pink egg in the garden.

It didn't take long for the duo to cause trouble, with an incident dubbed 'splashgate' occurring during Monday night's episode.

Chaos erupted in last night's scenes after Rhianna asked the pair if they hated her, as Jedward criticised Rhianna’s relationship with Omar, telling her that she was "not in Love Island".

After walking away from Jedward, who were in the garden's hot tub, Rhianna became upset, and their comments were eventually relayed to Lynx, who decided to confront Jedward.

When Lynx approached Jedward in the hot tub to challenge them over what they had said, the conversation quickly turned heated, and Jedward splashed Lynx from the tub as tensions escalated.

Other housemates, including Rhianna, Chelsey and Johanne, intervened as the argument continued.

Following the dramatic incident, fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with many calling the moment "TV gold" and comparing it to Big Brother in previous years.

Taking to the comments on an Instagram recap of the incident, one fan wrote: "This is so messy. What time is it on again."

Another said: "Old school BB is back!" A third wrote: "i LOVE. this show."

"Real TV is BACK", commented another, with one person writing that the moment was "fabulous entertainment".

Another viewer called it "brilliant TV", while one person said it was "the best TV of 2026", followed by some laughing face emojis.

"This is actually the best series ever", said one fan, while one person added: "Sorry but this is the best series in years."

Following the hot tub drama, a security breach occurred when tennis balls containing external messages were thrown over the walls and into the garden.

Producers responded by ordering the housemates inside and placing the house on lockdown while security teams checked the area.
