Anthropic has filed its S-1 prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission, preparing the company behind Claude to beat OpenAI to the punch with an IPO. In a filing with the SEC, Anthropic said it plans to list on the Nasdaq exchange under the ticker symbol “ANT.”
The AI company confidentially filed with the SEC earlier this year in June, but the public document reveals more details, as well as the company’s plans for the future in its own words, as well as potential risks for investors and the world. According to the S-1, in the first half of this year Anthropic had an $80.7 billion net loss on $16.3 billion in revenue.
Anthropic:
We believe that AI is one of the most consequential technologies in human history. If managed well, it could rapidly accelerate scientific innovation, greatly increase economic growth rates, bring cures for major diseases within reach, and solve problems that have resisted generations of human effort.
Anthropic aims to realize these benefits while navigating and preventing the risks that come with a technological revolution this fast and this powerful. There are four things that we would like any investor in Anthropic to understand: the incredible potential of AI, the risks we must address, Anthropic’s unique approach to building a company and operating in the world, and the ways in which our behavior may differ from that of a purely profit-maximizing company.
