A Nigerian man, Felix Omoruyi, has been charged with sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, sex trafficking of a minor, and related charges in the United States.

This was disclosed in a press release by the Office of Public Affairs of the Department of Justice on Thursday.

Omoruyi, a 39-year-old Nigerian residing in DeSoto, Texas, was indicted by a federal grand jury in the Northern District on eight-count charges.

The 39-year-old risks “a minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum penalty of life in prison along with mandatory restitution.”

According to court documents, from December 2007 to November 2025, Omoruyi forced five women to perform commercial sex acts in Texas and elsewhere for his financial benefit.

“Omoruyi trafficked one of those women beginning when she was a minor. After he was arrested on the initial indictment in November 2025, he also corruptly attempted to destroy evidence and obstruct and interfere with his prosecution by contacting victims and witnesses to influence their statements and testimony,” the statement read.
