Brightstar Lottery PLC (BRSL) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a five-year exclusive licensing agreement with Pan American World Airways LLC to develop and distribute Pan Am-branded lottery games worldwide. The agreement covers instant tickets, draw-based games, and online lottery games, giving Brightstar rights to use the Pan Am brand across both retail and digital lottery offerings.
Notably, the deal brings the brand into several lottery formats rather than limiting its use to a single type of game.
"Pan Am is a globally recognized brand that has inspired generations to see the world, and Brightstar is excited to translate that enduring legacy into compelling experiences for lottery players to enjoy," stated Matthew Whalen, Brightstar Senior Vice President, Global Instant Ticket Services.
Originally established in 1927, Pan American World Airways became one of the world's most recognized airlines and remains an enduring cultural icon associated with the golden age of international air travel. Pan Am ceased airline operations on December 4, 1991, ending more than 64 years in business. The shutdown followed the collapse of financing needed to keep the struggling airline operating.
