Such was Loki's impact that the character and the world in which he inhabited, the Time Variance Authority, are returning as big plot points in Avengers: Doomsday's story, as teased in its first trailers.

However, despite being an important MCU show concerning the franchise's wider narrative, Loki has actually been topped as Marvel's best TV show. Many general audience members likely still ranked it above Wonder Man and Daredevil: Born Again, but a more subtle MCU Disney+ show captured everyone's attention when it was first released. That show is X-Men '97 and, after two seasons in the last two years, the acclaimed show is set to return to Disney+ in 2027.

X-Men '97 is a continuation of the beloved X-Men: The Animated Series, though it is constructed in a way that means the latter is not necessary to understand the former. Season 1 saw the team facing off against Bastion, a threat to all mutants, while season 2 introduced Apocalypse, arguably the biggest, most dangerous X-Men villain of them all. Season 3 will continue the fight against Apocalypse, with Marvel recently confirming that it is set to be released in 2027, with season 4 following a year later in 2028.

Where audiences are concerned, the show has a huge 8.7/10 IMDb rating, higher than the beloved original Daredevil show on Netflix and Loki's 8.2 score. Evidently, X-Men '97 is the cream of the crop when looking at Marvel's Disney+ outings, making its 2027 return all the more exciting.

X-Men '97 Has A Key Advantage Over Marvel's Other Disney+ Shows

The main advantage that X-Men '97 has over its MCU competitors is a big factor in why the show is rated so highly. That advantage is the ability to tell a more complex, drawn-out story. After all, only Loki and Daredevil: Born Again have spawned more than one season out of the 13 live-action Disney+ shows produced by Marvel Studios. The rest have been confined by their status as limited series, which even Loki fell victim to, with only two seasons of six episodes.

X-Men '97, however, is not held down by these strings. The show has already had two seasons, the first consisting of 10 episodes and the second of nine. What's more, the show has already been renewed for two more seasons: the aforementioned season 3 in 2027 and another in 2028.
