Aston Villa To Launch Legal Action Against Carragher Over X-Rated Comments
Jamie Carragher will be the subject of legal action by Aston Villa following comments he made on their fans.
The Liverpool legend spoke on The Overlap earlier in the week about whether or not Manchester United would hire Villa boss Unai Emery, as reported by talkSPORT.
“Aston Villa will never be Manchester United,” he said, before looking at Emery’s past spells at Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain and adding: “Surely he would want that opportunity to manage a giant again.
“I’m not trying to annoy Villa fans, but the reason I’m saying this is there is a chain in football, whether you like it or not.
“Real Madrid will take Man U’s best player, they took (Cristiano) Ronaldo. There’s very few above United, the same with Liverpool.
“But there’ll be teams below Aston Villa, they’ll take their manager or they’ll take their players. So, shut the f*** up Villa fans!”
Villa have now confirmed their intentions to begin legal matters, as they took to social media on Friday night to address Carragher’s comments.
A statement read: “Aston Villa will initiate legal action against Jamie Carragher for his unacceptable insults about the Club and its fans.

“Aston Villa will not allow anyone to stop our ascension in English and European football. Nassef Sawiris, Chairman.”
United head coach Michael Carrick has faced increased pressure over recent weeks having not won any of their last eight matches.
Amid a potential managerial change, Emery has been a speculated option to take over.
The 54-year-old has been successful in getting Villa back into the Champions League and won last season’s Europa League.
However, whilst Emery did consider leaving in the summer, talkSPORT has been told that he is happy at Villa Park.
Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann are also understood to be names in consideration at United should they sack Carrick.
The ex-midfielder has been given time to turn things around despite their poor run of form.
Carrick will be in charge of the team when they take on Chelsea at Saturday and anything but a win could spell the end of his tenure at United – just five months after taking the job permanently.
United are 16th in the Premier League on seven points heading into the fixture.
