British man arrested over terror offences in connection to RAF Fairford incident
A 22-year-old British man has been arrested in London today on suspicion of terror offences related to the suspected RAF Fairford terror plot.
Counter Terrorism Policing said the man was arrested in the Borough of Westminster, London, on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Searches of a property have also been carried out in the same area.
Six suspects have already been arrested and released on bail after three suspicious vans were stopped near the airbase in Gloucestershire on Sunday September 27.
Senior national coordinator for Counter Terrorism Policing, Vicki Evans, said: “This remains a live investigation and our specialist teams continue to pursue multiple lines of enquiry into the circumstances surrounding events near RAF Fairford.
“Once again, I’d like to thank the public for their continued support and patience whilst we work through this highly complex investigation.
“We’re acutely aware of the public interest in this investigation, and we are working around the clock, and at pace, to identify the motivation behind events in Gloucestershire. We remain committed to investigating all possible angles.”

Counter Terrorism Policing is appealing to anyone with information which may assist the investigation to report it via gov.uk/ACT or by calling the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
