Post Malone is definitely not in a bad mood about dropping new music soon, with the musician sharing a snippet of a track on his upcoming album Eternal Buzz that had him cheesing while listening to it.

In the clip posted to Instagram on Wednesday (Oct. 28), Posty sits on a couch while drinking a beer as he rocks out to a track called “Bad Mood,” based on the lyrics and the hashtag he added, “#badmood.” “Guess I’m doomed,” he sings on the catchy reverb-drenched track. “Didn’t think things through/ What did I do? … Sorry I was in a bad mood.”

“eternal buzz coming soon 😤😤 love you mofo’s,” he wrote in the caption, referencing the title of his next album.

Fans have suspected for a while that the hitmaker was planning a return to his signature melodic pop style of hip-hop, and based on the new teaser, it seems like they might’ve been correct. “Bad Mood” sounds like it could’ve come straight from the era of Beerbongs & Bentleys, his three-week Billboard 200-topping 2018 album.

In recent years, Post has found success making country-inspired music, topping the U.S. albums chart with 2024’s F-1 Trillion and reaching No. 2 with 2023’s Austin as well as embarking on a stadium tour with Jelly Roll. Now it seems he’s returning to his roots, alerting fans earlier in October that he was hunkered down trying to get Eternal Buzz finished.

“I’m sorry it’s taking so goddamn long… I can’t wait to share this piece of music with y’all,” he shared on Instagram at the time. “We are so proud of what we’ve made… a s–tload of songs coming!!! I promise next time it won’t take 3 years… I love you so very much. Remember you kick a–!!!!!”
