Anthony Russo's comments about Avengers: Doomsday's cast officially set up an even bigger level of spectacle for the MCU movie at the end of this year, which is a major matter given things already were set up for a grand seeming narrative even without adding a single extra character.

As the beginning of the end for the MCU's Multiverse Saga, Avengers: Doomsday has been teed up to be an action-packed and mind-boggling experience in more than one way, since its story will need to span across several different universes, and place them all in considerable peril that even the combined forces of these different worlds may not be able to fully overcome.

Given the 2015-2016 Secret Wars comic saw the destruction of the multiverse before it was rebuilt and used as a soft reboot of sorts for the comic world, it stands to reason we can expect something similar for the MCU timeline here, which is a dramatic story for Avengers: Doomsday to delve into to say the least.

Indeed, Doomsday's story prospects only seem to be getting more dramatic-sounding the more we hear about it, as is the case with Anthony Russo's comments about what the full roster of Avengers: Doomsday's cast looks like, and what that means for the upcoming MCU movie and its place in the franchise.

Avengers: Doomsday's Cast List Reveal Is Fascinating Given The Movie's Teased Story

Avengers: Doomsday's assortment of currently named and confirmed individuals is already an extensive one, covering just about every different corner of the MCU and its various factions already.

However, this list is only set to expand further going forward, as Doomsday director Anthony Russo revealed that we haven't seen the full cast list for Avengers: Doomsday yet. At a post-Avengers: Endgame Encore screening (via GamesRadar), Russo discussed he and his brother Joe's work on the film, and his efforts to keep track of who has been unveiled to the public, stating:

"The cast is so large, and we've announced some of the cast, and we haven't announced some of the cast... I get confused myself over who we've announced and not announced, so I have to just slow down."

Anthony Russo's comments suggest there is still a fair number of figures yet to be revealed as part of the film, which is staggering to keep in mind given the multiversal conflict teased for Avengers: Doomsday has already been provided with a fair cast of known characters thus far, and any extension to said cast logistically is also set to further increase the scope and scale of said conflict and the battles around it.

Avengers: Doomsday Is Looking Like It Could Have The Biggest Cast Out Of Any Avengers Movie Yet

Avengers: Endgame's cast was staggeringly big, but the movie wasn't able to draw from one realm that Avengers: Doomsday already clearly can - which is, of course, the multiverse.

With Avengers: Doomsday already using alternate universe versions of the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, it's clear the film is set to feature a range of characters from different worlds, especially with Doctor Doom acting as the movie's primary antagonist, since he himself currently seems to come from the same alternate universe as the Fantastic Four.

Though this sets a high bar for Avengers: Doomsday in order to balance all the different stories and arcs this will subsequently need to give some form of attention on-screen, it does also set a promising precedent for the franchise, given that a truly broad multiversal cast for Avengers: Doomsday could help create a truly unforgettable movie that redefines how sprawling the MCU's stories can truly be.
