Big Brother UK fans predict "painful" week as new celebrity housemates arrive

Big Brother kicked off its Double Trouble Week tonight, with the arrival of two new celebrity Housemates. But Jedward's guest appearance has left fans divided online, as they predict a "painful" watch over the next seven days.

The episode began with the aftermath of Friday's live eviction, which saw Millie voted out by the public. And before the Housemates could even breathe a sigh of relief, they were informed of this week's theme.

In the garden, Jedward made their grand entrance by emerging from a gaudy pink egg to join the experiment. Their appearance marks their third time taking part in the show, having previously starred on Celebrity Big Brother in 2011 and 2017.

It's fair to say the duo received less than a warm welcome from the Housemates, with many left confused and unenthused. Meanwhile, it was a similar story online, as fans took to social media to share their mixed views about the twist.

"Buckle in, boys and girls. We're in for a rather painful week ahead," one wrote on Twitter/X, with another chiming in: "To have Jedward sprung into the house you are stuck in sounds like a torture technique."

"Jedward are literally adding NOTHING to this series," wrote a third, while a fourth said: "ITV put Jedward in thinking it was going to be fantastic viewing whereas in reality this has been the most boring episode of the series so far."

Another pointed out: "The way nobody was excited to see them and were mostly confused and nonchalant is the funniest thing ever."

Jedward were instructed to oversee the latest challenge, which could allow the highest scoring duo to be immune from the next public vote. The twins were granted the power to pair up the Housemates before they began their tasks.

Following some friction between Chelsey and Johanne, Jedward offered some sage advice to the latter, with fans delighting at the unexpected "therapy session".

"Johanne having a therapy session with Jedward is genuinely so funny I love this show," said one, while another agreed:"Johanne having a crying therapy session with Jedward is so funny."

"jedward already making the house ten times better," claimed a third, with a fourth adding: "Jedward uplifting ar queen Johanne like this oh lemme give them their 10s actually."

With the former X Factor stars in the house all week, will they manage to win over audiences or will they live up to their 'Double Trouble' calling?

Big Brother airs at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. Big Brother: The Group Chat airs on ITV2, ITVX and YouTube, with episodes also available across major podcast platforms.
