EastEnders' Shona McGarty fuels wedding talk amid romance with former co-star

Former EastEnders star Tony Discipline recently outlined his intentions to marry Shona McGarty, and it looks to have been a wise move as McGarty herself has returned the favour in a new interview.
The pair, who played Tyler Moon and Whitney Dean on the BBC soap respectively, confirmed earlier this year that they were in a relationship, with the announcement coming after fans had speculated about their bond for months.
And it seems that the couple are very much loved-up, with McGarty telling Closer (via The Sun): "I'm really happy, I've honestly found my one. Tony is the ultimate gentleman and he treats me like a queen."

"He makes me laugh, he compliments me all the time and he genuinely wants me to do well. I just adore him. Straight away. We've always liked each other," added the star, who played Whitney for 16 years before departing in 2024.
While she sang his praises, McGarty also expressed her desire to marry her former co-star, noting: "I'd marry him tomorrow! In my book of life, I've got all these chapters that are part of my story but now I'm at the chapter where I've found my one."
Her words come just days after Discipline echoed the adorable sentiment, with the actor saying that he "absolutely" intended to tie the knot with the woman that he described as his "soulmate".
"That's the love of my life," he said as he attended one of his partner's West End productions. "I've known her [for] a long time. We've always had partners, so we never stepped over the line. But in the last year or so our chemistry has really come to light.

"She's just the best woman in the world. Her energy, she's so funny, she makes me laugh every day. I'm a very lucky man to have her and she's got a beautiful voice, hasn't she? I don't want anyone else in my life. That's my woman, that's my soulmate."
While Discipline and McGarty are very much happy away from Walford, there's love - and trouble - in the air for some characters on the soap itself, with Mark Fowler and Lauren Branning's affair being discovered by Ned Hawkins.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
