Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Maintenance in Several Counties on October 6

Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance in parts of Nairobi, Narok, Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu, Uasin Gishu and Kisumu counties on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The scheduled interruptions will affect several residential, commercial and institutional areas, with outages expected to run for different durations depending on the location.

Nairobi Region

Kitsuru

Residents and businesses in parts of Kitsuru will experience an electricity interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected areas include Rosslyn Lone Tree, Ruaka Road, Ruaka Groove, parts of Limuru Road and adjacent customers.

Marurui

Maintenance in Marurui will also run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Windsor Hotel, Windsor Park, Mugumoini, Braeburn School, Marurui, part of Thorne, the area around North Bypass and adjacent customers.

Mombasa Road

Customers along parts of Mombasa Road will be without power between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The interruption will affect Alpha Centre, REREC Offices, Nice & Lovely, Manchester Knit, Viraj Complex, Crown Health, Auto Express Msa Road, Total Petrol Station opposite the airport and adjacent customers.

Central Rift Region

Narosora and Loita, Narok County

Parts of Narok County will experience a planned outage in Narosora and Loita from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Narosora Market, Erangata Enteriti Market, Loita, Entasekera Market, Olmeshutie Market, Olorte Market and Kanunga Market, alongside adjacent customers.

Mt Kenya Region

Kiini and Giampapo, Tharaka Nithi County

Electricity maintenance in Kiini and Giampapo is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Mugona Secondary School, Giampapo Primary School, PCEA Kiini Primary School, Giakanja Primary School, Ikame Primary School, Karingangoru Village, Kiini C.F, Kiamumchurnbi TBC and Kaonjo TBC, as well as adjacent customers.

Kagutu and Kaanwa

Customers in Kagutu and Kaanwa will experience an interruption from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The affected areas include Kaguntu, Kaanwa Market, Chuka Vocational Technical, Mwanjate Market, Mbwiro, Kajuki Market, Igambangombe and Ntumbara, together with adjacent customers.

Wangige and Gathiga

Maintenance in Wangige and Gathiga will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Njonjo Farm, Wangige Hospital, Wangige Market, Kibiku, Gathiga Market, Otani Residence and Kessel Homes, alongside adjacent customers.

North Rift Region

Simba Quarry, Pan Paper, Mbacho and KMTC, Uasin Gishu County

A shorter interruption is scheduled in parts of Uasin Gishu County from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The affected areas include Simba Quarry, Pan Paper Market, Mbacho and KMTC, as well as adjacent customers.

Western Region

Angira Village, Kisumu County

In Kisumu County, planned maintenance will affect Angira Village from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Affected locations include Angira Secondary School, Angira SDA, Angira Primary School, Angira Village and adjacent customers.
