Serian continues to record very unhealthy air quality
The Serian district police headquarters in Sarawak recorded a very unhealthy air pollutant index (API) reading of 218 as of 8am today.
According to the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System portal, nine areas in Sarawak and one in Melaka recorded unhealthy API readings. Kuching recorded the highest reading at 195, followed by Samarahan (188), Bintulu (170), Sri Aman (168) and Samalaju (163).
Sibu and Sarikei recorded a reading of 158 each, while Mukah recorded 151, Bukit Rambai in Melaka 118, and Miri 114.
Fifty areas nationwide recorded moderate API readings while seven recorded good readings.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and above 300 hazardous.
