Translate

Gardaí (Irish police) have arrested a man aged in his 20s and a woman in her 30s in connection with a suspected arson attack which killed four family members in Waterford.

They are currently being held in a station in the east of the Republic of Ireland.

Kim English, Philip English and two of their children - nine-year-old Jayden and 12-year-old Callum - died after their home in Birch Avenue, on the outskirts of Waterford was set on fire on Tuesday.

Two other children who were also in the house at the time remain in a critical condition in hospital in Crumlin in Dublin.

Post mortems on the four deceased family members have been carried out but their results are not being released for "operational reasons".

Officers have also appealed for anybody with information on the "murderous attack" to come forward and have also appealed for dash cam footage.
