Here's a list of key deals reported across sectors this week:
- Onsemi (ON) announced a new agreement to acquire Synaptics (SYNA) for $123 a share in cash, revising an all-stock deal that was disclosed in June. The amended agreement came after an unsolicited competing proposal.
- Mattel (MAT) soared 19% after a report that the toymaker has recently received takeover interest from Authentic Brands.
- Nebius (NBIS) on Thursday said it has acquired Inferize to strengthen the AI company's token factory's production inference stack.
- Lynas Rare Earths (LYSCF) (LYSDY) said on Thursday it agreed to acquire Australian peer Meteoric Resources (METOF) in an all-stock deal valued at A$968M ($672M).
- Walgreens private-equity owner Sycamore is near a deal to sell the U.K. pharmacy chain Boots for close to $9 billion, including debt.
- Caterpillar (CAT) on Wednesday announced plans to invest about $1 billion in North Carolina to expand production of compact construction equipment, a day after the heavy-machinery maker agreed to acquire longtime Cat dealer John Fabick Tractor Co.
- Hormel Foods (HRL) said it has agreed to acquire Brakebush Brothers, a value-added chicken provider, from the Brakebush family for approximately $1.055B, with the deal expected to close in the first quarter of fiscal 2027.
- Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) on Monday said it would acquire World Labs, an AI model and research lab, in an all-stock transaction is valued at nearly $8.2 billion.
- Nu Holdings (NU) is reportedly in talks to acquire U.K. digital bank Monzo in a deal valued at around £8B-£10B.
