Kenya Power has announced planned electricity maintenance that will affect parts of Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kiambu and Mombasa counties on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

The scheduled interruptions will run at different times depending on the affected areas, with most outages expected between 9am and 5pm.

Customers in the affected areas have been advised to make the necessary arrangements ahead of the interruptions.

Nairobi County

Part of Parklands

Maintenance in parts of Parklands will run from 9am to 5pm.

Affected areas include 4th Parklands, Masari Road, KU Lane, Ngao Road, Suswa Road, Wangapala Road, KPLC Staff Quarters, Diamond 1 and 2, Presidential Escort and adjacent customers.

Behind Kenya Pipeline along railway line

Another interruption will affect areas behind Kenya Pipeline along the railway line from 9am to 5pm.

The affected locations include Eastlands College, Rubis Depot, Uzurl Foods, Mogadishu Road, Olkarau Road, Pate Road, Runyenjes Road, Cera Coating, parts of Nanyuki Road and adjacent customers.

Uasin Gishu County

Eldoret GK Prison

In Uasin Gishu County, maintenance will affect the Eldoret GK Prison area from 9am to 5pm.

Affected locations include Sirikwa Hotel, MUSCO Towers, County Government of Uasin Gishu, Goshen Hotel, Cicada Hotel, Eastern Avenue, Zion Mall, Komora, St. Matthews ACK, Moi Girls’ High School, Eldoret GK Prison and adjacent customers.

Kisumu County

Majengo, Mbale, Chavakali and Kaimosi

Parts of Kisumu County will experience an interruption from 10am to 5pm.

The affected areas include Shoka Maize Millers, Mudete T/F, Sabatia Eye Hospital, Mbale Market, Serem Market, Majengo Market, Garnbogi Market, Kitigu Goldmine, Chavakali Market, Iregi TIC, Kaimosi University, Makhokho and adjacent customers.

Kiambu County

Garissa Road, Makongeni and Gatuanyaga

A wide area covering parts of Kiambu County will be affected from 9am to 5pm.

The interruption will affect Kisii Estate, Thika Barracks, MKU Pavilion, Landless Estate, Muguga Market, Gatuanyaga Market, Gatuanyaga Primary School, parts of Makongeni, Makongeni Police Station, KCB Makongeni, Makongeni St. Mulumba Catholic Church, Carter Oakhill School, Glorious Fountain Academy, Kangoki, Buffalo Estate, Kabati, Kwa Magu, Magic Stone Quarry, Budhia Quarry, Nyacaba, St. George School, Komo Market, Munyu Market, Kiganjo Alternative Energy, Retec Factory, Kenya Leather, Avoil Industries, Mulumba Hospital, Kamenu, Kenyatta Secondary School, Delta, Kenblest, Carton Experts, Kifaro, Malaba, Muthara and Kimuchu, alongside adjacent customers.

Mombasa County

Shimanzi

In Mombasa County, planned maintenance in Shimanzi will run from 9am to 5pm.

Affected customers include East Africa Terminals Ltd, Salvochem, the whole of Mahindi Station, Vivo Energy Kenya, East African Storage, Ola Energy, the whole of Kismayu Road, part of Shimanzi Road, Kitui Flour Mills Makande, Bandari Clinic and adjacent customers.

Customers urged to prepare

Kenya Power regularly conducts planned maintenance to facilitate repairs and improvements to its electricity distribution network.

Customers in the affected areas are encouraged to plan their activities accordingly and treat all electrical installations as live once power is restored.
