EastEnders confirms Cindy's huge discovery about Max in early iPlayer release

EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s episode (21 October), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders’ Cindy Beale has made a game-changing discovery about Max Branning, as one of his biggest secrets is finally uncovered.

This week, Cindy returned from her honeymoon that she went on with Elaine, alongside her new lover Rafael. When she found a lipstick in Max’s flat, she vowed to find out the identity of his mystery woman.

The plot thickened when Cindy discovered that Max was hoping to buy No.31. Then after rowing with both Max and Rafael in the pub, Cindy went home and made an intriguing discovery on her and Max’s shared laptop.

In today’s episode, Cindy decided to tell Lauren what she’d learned about Max. Together, they interrupted Max’s viewing of No.31 and exposed that he has a secret property in New Zealand.

Lauren raged at her dad’s lies, as he’d previously told Tanya that he couldn’t afford to help with AJ’s childcare, while Cindy told Max she’d consider contesting their annulment.

As a result of Cindy’s interference, Suki rejected Max’s offer for No.31 in favour of Ned’s, which she thought was a better proposition – so Max vowed to get revenge on Cindy.

Cindy begged Johnny for legal advice but he urged her to let things go and get the annulment. Her attention was then piqued by something else when Alfie told her that Kat wanted revenge on the man who abandoned Zoe the night she died.

Later, Cindy headed to Peacock Palace to have a drink with Elaine, but her day got even worse when she caught Elaine and Rafael in a passionate clinch!

Meanwhile, desperate Max approached Oscar and asked him to help get Cindy to admit that his and Cindy’s marriage was never consummated, which would grant him the annulment.

Back at home, Oscar approached Cindy, but he was interrupted when Elaine showed up to try and make amends for what happened with Rafael.

That evening, Cindy opened up to Oscar about Max – and as the pair opened another bottle of wine, Oscar secretly started recording on his phone. Oscar continued quizzing Cindy about the events of the wedding day, but he couldn’t quite get her to say what he needed her to.

As the drinks flowed, talk turned to Oscar’s relationship with Josh, and Cindy wondered if Josh knew something about the night that Zoe died.

Oscar blurted out that he knew the truth about this, and after some tough questioning, Cindy discovered that Oscar was covering for his dad. With Cindy now knowing that Max left Zoe to die, what will she do with this information?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
