7 missing crewmen found safe after Quezon boat mishap

LUCENA CITY – The seven crewmen reported missing after their cargo boat capsized off Jomalig town in Quezon early Wednesday (Nov. 4), were rescued at 1 p.m. on the same day, police said in an updated report.

The men were located 10 hours after their vessel, MV AC, was reported to have capsized and have since returned safely to their families in Barangay Talisoy, the Quezon Police Public Information Office (PIO) said in a belated report on Thursday afternoon (November 5) .

The capsized boat was also recovered and had been towed to the shoreline.

The motorized vessel had left Jomalig for Atimonan town at around 3 a.m. while carrying a load of copra. INQ
