Strong winds uproot historic tree Okomfo Anokye planted many years ago at Agona

Strong winds have uprooted the historic tree planted by the legendary priest Okomfo Anokye at Agona in the Ashanti Region.
The historic tree, said to have been planted many years ago, with some historians quoting around 330 years, went down Tuesday, during strong winds that passed through Agona.
From videos shared on social media from Agona, the tree came down upside down, with roots pointing skyward and branches facing the ground.
The Onton tree is said to have been planted by Okomfo Anokye himself around 1690 as a powerful spiritual symbol for the Asante Kingdom.
In Agona, Graphic Online understands many are saying the way the tree came down upside down, with roots pointing skyward and branches facing the ground, was a "spiritual sign".
