Sandra Bullock remembers ‘nothing’ about winning Oscar because of secret newborn

Sandra Bullock has said she remembers “nothing” about winning her Academy Award in 2010 because she was “hiding a newborn” at the time.
The film star, 62, won the best actress Oscar for portraying Leigh Anne Tuohy in sports biopic The Blind Side.
At the time, Bullock was secretly caring for her infant son Louis, whom she adopted.
Asked what she remembered about her win on Live With Kelly And Mark, Bullock replied: “Nothing.”

Bullock said: “Well, I had maybe two hours of sleep? I was hiding a newborn.
“No-one knew I had Lou, and he had acid reflux, so he slept only every two hours. So I don’t remember much of the night.”
Despite the significance of the award, Bullock said she was mostly eager to get home to her son.
She said: “But I do know that I wanted to get home because I wanted to do the feeding, because I knew who was there with him was probably struggling.”
The actress added she struggled to get out of her dress when she got home.
She said: “I was there in the dress, and I couldn’t get out of the dress, so I just sat in the dress with Lou. [The] Oscar was on the floor and Lou was on my lap.
“It was the best way to have that night because it was so overwhelming in general.
“I think it would have been more overwhelming had I not been so tired. I just wanted to go home.”

Ripa’s husband and co-host Mark Consuelos asked Bullock what people thought when she left the ceremony early.
She replied: “I couldn’t leave the Oscars early. We went to the after-party, and then we had to wait to get the little name put on there.
“I was like, ‘Can we just hurry up the name?’ Then we said ‘Hi,’ and then I took off.”
“They all thought, ‘Oh, she’s tired. She’s tired.’ And I was tired, but I just wanted to get home to a little person that no-one knew about.”
Louis began living with Bullock in January 2010 but she did not publicly confirm his adoption until April that year, the same month she filed for divorce from her husband, Jesse James.
Bullock raised Louis, now 16, as a single parent and later adopted her daughter Laila, now 13.
The actress was in a relationship with photographer Bryan Randall from 2015 until his death from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis in 2023.
