“A total of 14 vessel movements, including arrivals and departures, were recorded at Red Sea Ports Authority (RSPA) facilities, with 15,000 tons of cargo, 781 trucks and 112 vehicles handled,” the Authority said in a statement Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Imports accounted for eight vessels, 8,000 tons of cargo, 494 trucks and 98 vehicles, while exports involved six vessels, 7,000 tons of cargo, 287 trucks and 14 vehicles.

According to the statement, Safaga Port received the vessel ELENA carrying 1,120 live cattle weighing 504 tons from Djibouti for the National Service Authority. The relevant authorities are carrying out necessary inspections to ensure the shipment’s safety before allowing it to be unloaded and placed in quarantine in Safaga.

The port also received three other vessels – ALCUDIA EXPRESS, Al-Horreya 2 and Amal – while PELAGOS EXPRESS and BRIDGE departed.

Nuweiba Port handled 5,400 tons of cargo and 315 trucks through shuttle trips operated by three vessels.
