The Football Association (FA) has reprimanded Fulham head coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, for comments he made about the officials after his team’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United on September 20th.
Fulham went ahead in the game after a Lisandro Martinez own goal, but just moments before the West London club claimed a famous victory at the Craven Cottage, Matheus Cunha scored a deflected goal to secure a draw for the Red Devils.
After the match, Arbeloa said, “I knew after the game against Manchester City that they don’t let Manchester United lose here.” This referred to the contentious offside decision that was given in favour of Manchester United the previous week against Manchester City. However, VAR did overturn the decision after a lengthy review.

The Spaniard was fined 25,000 pounds and has been given a warning for the comments he made.
“It was alleged that the Fulham head coach acted in an improper manner by making comments in a post-match interview that imply bias and/or question the integrity of a match official,” said the FA while also adding that Arbeloa admitted to the charge.
As of 12th October, Fulham sit at the bottom of the Premier League (two points) with Arbeloa still searching for his first win with ‘the Cottagers’.
