Finance Minister says Danantara dividends not in 2026 and 2027 budgets

..Danantara's impact should be evaluated through its strategic economic investments rather than direct remittances to the state treasury.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has confirmed that sovereign investment agency Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara) will not contribute dividend revenues to the state budgets for fiscal years 2026 and 2027.

Speaking to the press in Jakarta on Thursday, Minister Suahasil clarified that expected dividend payouts from the investment entity have not been incorporated into revenue projections for either budget year cycle.

"Currently, I am working on the 2026 State Budget, which does not include Danantara dividends. I am also preparing the 2027 State Budget, and Danantara dividends are not included or recorded there either," Suahasil noted.

The clarification counters earlier statements by government officials, including former Finance official Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who previously indicated that Danantara would remit approximately Rp120 trillion (approximately US$6.7 billion) in profits to the 2026 budget as non-tax state revenue.

Prior to the recent restructuring of state-owned enterprise (SOE) asset management under Danantara, annual SOE dividend contributions to the state treasury averaged around Rp90 trillion (US$5.03 billion).

Addressing concerns over the fund's fiscal contribution, Suahasil emphasized that Danantara's impact should be evaluated through its strategic economic investments rather than direct remittances to the state treasury.

Rather than serving as an immediate budget buffer, the agency's priority will be to deploy its asset base to spur domestic economic activity, foster various private-sector partnerships, and create sustainable employment.

"It is about how Danantara works harder—leveraging its massive assets to help solve societal problems, create jobs, build production capacity for goods and services, connect with private-sector investment, and ultimately improve the welfare of the Indonesian people," Suahasil concluded.
