Subodh Bhave recalls meeting Prabhas on ‘Adipurush’ sets

“I met him on the set of ‘Adipurush.’ Om Raut, who directed the film, had worked with me on his first Marathi movie, ‘Lokmanya: Ek Yugpurush.’ He had called me to the set and introduced me to Prabhas; that’s how we met,” he said.Speaking about his experience of shooting with Prabhas for ‘Fauzi’, Bhave praised the actor’s warm and friendly behaviour. He said Prabhas made everyone comfortable despite being one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.“On the sets of ‘Fauzi,’ though he is a very big superstar, he brought a lot of warmth and love. He was very cool. He made the other actors comfortable on the set. Anupamji (

) was there as well. I shot a scene with Anupam ji and Prabhas, which was special as I got to work with two big names.

Prabhas is a fantastic human being. Despite being a big superstar, he doesn’t bring his stature or status to the set. We shot very comfortably,” Bhave said.Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, known for Sita Ramam, Fauzi also features Imanvi, Mithun Chakraborty, Bhanu Chander and Jaya Prada in important roles.

What is the ‘Fauzi’ controversy?

Recently, the film got involved in a controversy after its first teaser received criticism over its fictionalised portrayal of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

A scene set in Berlin on May 29, 1942, shows Netaji discussing a fictional Indian spy, played by Prabhas, with Adolf Hitler. In the sequence, Netaji praises the character portrayed by Prabhas.'Fauzi’ teaser faces heat over Netaji’s portrayalNetaji’s grandnephew Chandra Kumar Bose criticised the portrayal, calling it a “crime” and demanding an unconditional public apology from the director and the makers. The production team has not issued an apology so far.The makers initially planned to release ‘Fauzi’ on December 3, 2026, but the film is now scheduled to arrive in theatres on March 19, 2027.
