Moffi battles Onyedika in Bundesliga clash

Translate

Super Eagles stars Terem Moffi and Raphael Onyedika are set for a Bundesliga showdown on Sunday as their clubs, Hamburger SV and Eintracht Frankfurt, meet for the second time in five days, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Moffi will be hoping to inspire Hamburg to a better result after scoring a late consolation in their 3-1 DFB-Pokal defeat to Frankfurt on October 27. Robin Koch, Jonathan Burkardt and Younes Ebnoutalib scored for Frankfurt.

The Nigerian striker, who joined Hamburg from OGC Nice, will face his international teammate Onyedika, who operates in Frankfurt’s midfield. Hamburg defender Jordan Torunarigha is also a fitness doubt for the visitors.

Frankfurt occupy 14th position in the Bundesliga with eight points from seven matches, one place and one point behind Hamburg.

Adi Hütter’s side have recorded two wins, one draw and two defeats in their last five league games, including a 6-0 thrashing by RB Leipzig and a 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund.

Hamburg, meanwhile, have won three of their last five matches but have struggled on the road, losing three of their last four away fixtures and conceding in each.

The two clubs have met 111 times in all competitions, with Hamburg holding the advantage with 45 victories against Frankfurt’s 40, while 26 encounters have ended in draws.

With both sides seeking valuable points, the Nigerian trio will have an opportunity to play decisive roles in the contest.
