Alien: Earth Season 2 Officially Lands Silo Veteran As Director In Exciting Production Update

Alien: Earth has added another icon to its season 2 lineup.

Alien: Earth season 2 has finally confirmed another addition to its team. The second chapter of the hit FX series will feature the directorial debut of Ed Moore, the cinematographer behind several Apple TV+'s hit shows, such as Silo and Hijack. Moore revealed in an Instagram post that he is set to direct the finale of the upcoming installment.

Moore posted a picture of the slate for Alien: Earth season 2's finale, where his name and title can clearly be seen. The director captioned his post by stating, "One small move on the slate and one giant leap in DGA membership. I cannot quite believe I can tell you I’m directing the finale episode of Alien: Earth season two."

His social media post also includes a very subtle implication regarding the filming progress for the science fiction series. Since Moore confirmed that he was directing the finale and the photo features a slate with his name on it, it is pretty safe to assume that Alien: Earth has officially completed filming for season 2.

His new role marks a major shift in his career. Up until now, Moore has primarily been a cinematographer in the entertainment industry. Aside from Silo and Hijack, he has also worked on other successful projects such as Doctor Who, Shetland, Vera, Britannia, and This Way Up.

Alien: Earth was created by Noah Hawley, who also serves as an executive producer, writer, and director. Ridley Scott, who directed the original 1979 Alien film that started it all, is an executive producer for the series, alongside Dana Gonzales, who is also a director and the director of photography.

Although details about Alien: Earth season 2 remain shrouded in mystery, it is expected to pick up after the dramatic events of the season 1 finale. The first chapter concludes with Wendy (Sydney Chandler) and the other hybrids seemingly taking control of Prodigy after capturing the antagonists of the series. The upcoming installment will also see the return of Morrow (Babou Ceesay), Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin), Kirsh (Timothy Olyphant), and Dame Sylvia (Essie Davis).

There is currently no official release date for Alien: Earth season 2 at the time of this article's publication. Season 1 can be streamed on Hulu now.
