The northbound lanes of the Pasig Boulevard-C5 and C5 Boni Serrano flyovers are scheduled to reopen at 8 p.m. on Monday, November 2, following rehabilitation works, officials said.
In an ambush interview, Public Works Secretary Giovanni Lopez said the southbound lanes are expected to reopen at 4 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3.
“Mamayang gabi, yung northbound magbubukas na po ng 8 p.m. tapos yung southbound naman magbubukas na 4 a.m. bukas,” Lopez said.
(Tonight, the northbound lanes will reopen at 8 p.m., while the southbound lanes will reopen at 4 a.m. tomorrow.)
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon also confirmed that the C5 Boni Serrano flyover would reopen Monday night.
“Pati Boni Serrano bubukas na rin mamayang gabi,” Dizon said.
(The Boni Serrano flyover will also reopen tonight.)
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) began the rehabilitation and retrofitting works on October 30, taking advantage of the Undas long weekend to minimize disruptions to motorists.
Lopez apologized to motorists affected by the road works but stressed that the repairs were necessary to ensure their safety.
He said the DPWH expedited the work to accommodate motorists returning from the provinces after the long weekend.
Dizon said the government was also working to minimize traffic disruptions ahead of the Christmas holiday rush.
