Dewan Rakyat to discuss RON95 quality, landfill woes, foreign drivers today

KUALA LUMPUR: The quality of RON95 petrol samples, solid waste landfill mitigation, and enforcement against foreigners driving without valid licences will take centre stage in the Dewan Rakyat today.
According to the Order Paper on the Parliament portal, Abdul Latiff Abdul Rahman (PN-Kuala Krai) will ask the domestic trade and cost of living minister to state the analysis outcome of RON95 samples across five states and depots during the Minister's Question Time.
He is also seeking details on immediate measures to restore consumer confidence and compensation for affected vehicle owners.
In the same session, Datuk Dr Richard Rapu @ Aman Begri (GPS-Betong) will ask the housing and local government minister about long-term strategies for critical open dumpsites under rural local authorities, as well as mitigation plans for districts without Waste-to-Energy plants.
During the oral question-and-answer session, Dr Siti Mastura Muhammad (PN-Kepala Batas) will ask the transport minister to elaborate on enforcement mechanisms against foreigners, including United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees cardholders and undocumented immigrants, driving motor vehicles without a valid licence.
Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN-Simpang Renggam) will ask the home minister to outline the progress of the early detection radar system, unmanned aerial vehicles, and satellite systems, the percentage of 24-hour surveillance coverage, and critical asset capability gaps in the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.
Rodiyah Sapiee (GPS-Batang Sadong) will query the government on its preparedness to prevent and address haze episodes, given expectations that the El Nino phenomenon will persist until mid-2027.
Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat will proceed with the committee stage debate and ministerial replies on the Supply (Budget) Bill 2027 and the Motion on the 2027 Development Expenditure Estimates.
The committee stage debate and winding-up session for the 2027 Budget will run until Nov 26, according to the parliamentary calendar.
