Former Nairobi Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria Admitted To HDU After Sudden Illness
Former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria has been admitted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) after falling ill during a meeting in Nairobi.
According to details shared by politician Duke Mainga Echate, Mosiria collapsed unexpectedly on Thursday evening, October 29, 2026. Mainga, alongside activist Morara Kebaso and an associate named Mirina, rushed Mosiria to the hospital.
Social media personality Obidan Dela provided further context on Mosiria’s sudden turn of health, noting that Mosiria experienced dizziness shortly after eating.
“The day started well, but after eating, he complained of dizziness,” Obidan explained in a video update from the hospital. “He has been admitted to the HDU, where doctors are monitoring his heart and working to stabilize his condition. He is stable now.”
Obidan urged Nairobi residents and supporters to give Mosiria space to focus on his health and recover before returning to public engagements. Neither the hospital nor Mosiria’s family has released an official medical diagnosis regarding the cause of his sudden illness.
The emergency hospitalization comes barely a week after Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja relieved Mosiria of his duties as Chief Officer for Public Participation, Citizen Engagement, and Customer Service in a county circular dated October 21, 2026, replacing him with Zipporah Njeri Mwangi in an acting capacity.
Following his exit from City Hall, Mosiria voiced frustration with the county executive, alleging he had been sidelined for nearly three years. Despite his dismissal, Mosiria reaffirmed his plans to run for Nairobi Governor in the 2027 General Election.
