Bokeem Woodbine Joins James Marsden’s Apple TV Series ‘Disavowed’

EXCLUSIVE: Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) has been tapped as series regular on Apple TV‘s new action thriller series Disavowed, starring and executive produced by James Marsden.

Written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway based on their original idea, Disavowed follows legendary CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin (Marsden), who is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing his colleague. Disgraced and outcast from the world of intelligence, all bets are off when Brad decides to go after the 15 million dollar federal bounty on the assassin’s head.

In addition to Marsden, Woodbine joins recently cast Norman Reedus and Sylvia Hoeks.

Hailing from Apple Studios, Disavowed is executive produced by Marcum, Holloway, Marsden, Tom Spezialy, Michelle MacLaren, who will direct the first two episodes, and Rebecca Hobbs under her Apple TV overall deal. Blue Marble Pictures produces, with Theresa Kang and Caroline Garity serving as executive producers.

This marks Woodbine’s return to Apple TV where he was part of the main cast of the 2025 comedy-drama series Government Cheese. An Emmy nominee for FX’s Fargo, Woodbine will next be seen in Season 2 of Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrections and A24’s movie Primetime. He is repped by Gersh and Jackoway Austen Tyerman Wertheimer.
