Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, has stated that the second-term mandate given to the administration led by Biodun Oyebanji was ordained by God for the delivery of more impactful services to the people.
Afuye, who described the governor as a godly man whose devotion to God remained unquantifiable, saluted his unwavering faith despite the noise and antics of some mischief-makers, particularly during the governorship election.
The deputy governor, who has been on a thanksgiving tour of branches of the Celestial Church of Christ across the state, spoke at CCC, Ikere Ekiti, her hometown, on Sunday, according to a statement made available on Monday by the Director of Press, Deputy Governor’s Office, Tope Ariyo.
Afuye, who assured Ekiti residents that the Oyebanji administration would give priority attention to job creation and industrialisation in the second term, hailed the CCC and other faith-based organisations in the state for their unwavering support to the government in the first term, particularly during the governorship election period.
She said, “I would like to thank our leaders across the state for standing by us. The support shown by this church, CCC, was massive. The same thing was seen across all Christian denominations and from the Muslims as well. I thank all our faith-based organisations for the uncommon love.

“Our governor is a man who fears God. Having a man of substance like him at the helm of affairs can only mean that God will be made first in his policies and their execution.
“I am optimistic that the second-term mandate of the administration will usher in better, improved and impactful service delivery across the state. I can affirm that priority attention will be given to job creation and industrialisation,” the deputy governor said.
Earlier, the presiding priest of the church, Rotimi Ogunbunmi, had stressed the importance of prayers and unwavering faith in God, asserting that godliness with contentment was of great reward.
Ogunbunmi applauded Oyebanji for exhibiting morals and an upbringing befitting of a godly leader, noting that the aura of peace and orderliness being witnessed in the state was a pointer to the presence of God in the lives of the governor and deputy governor.
